Pokemart Restocking Poll

Based on everyone's feedback from our most recent update, I've come up with a few solutions for the Pokemart restocking times and purchase limits. Please read through the descriptions below and vote for your favorite option!

Note: Some adjustments may be made later when I actually implement one of these options, but you'll get the general idea. :P And if you have suggestions for any of these, please post them~

Option #1: Keep our current system

Option #2: Restock on Saturdays and Wednesdays, still limit 3 items per week and no more than one of the same item.

• pros - Facilitates those who don't play on the weekends, and more items are available per week.
• cons - Does not eliminate the advantage that more active members have.

Option #3: Restock on Saturdays and Wednesdays, limit 3 items and no more than one of the same item PER RESTOCK.

• pros - Facilitates those who don't play on the weekends. More items are available and more purchases are allowed per week.
• cons - Does not eliminate the advantage that more active members have.

Option #4: Restock randomly twice per week, limit purchase 3 items and no more than one of the same item PER RESTOCK.

• pros - Facilitates more schedules. More items are available and more purchases are allowed per week. "First Dibs" determined more by chance rather than timing.
• cons - Does not completely eliminate the advantage that more active members have.

Option #5: Restock 8 items randomly every day, limit purchase 1 item PER RESTOCK.

• pros - Facilitates almost all schedules. More items are available and more purchases are allowed per week. Greater chance for everyone to purchase popular and Key Items. "First Dibs" determined more by chance rather than timing.
• cons - Does not eliminate the advantage that more active members have. Members who can get on every day have more selection than those who don't. Less items are available and less purchases are allowed per restock.

Option #6: Restock 4 items randomly 3 times a day, limit purchase 1 item PER RESTOCK.

• pros - Facilitates almost all schedules. More items are available and more purchases are allowed per week. Greater chance for everyone to purchase popular and Key Items. "First Dibs" determined more by chance rather than timing.
• cons - Does not completely eliminate the advantage that the more active members have. Members who can get on every day have more selection than those who don't. Members who can get on ALL day ( lol x_X ) will have a big advantage. Less items are available and less purchases are allowed per restock.

Ayaa, I'm, too late in replying to the update post! I guess I took just a little too long to think about it. XD Ah well, I'll reply here instead. =P

I'd like to have the Pokemart restocked more often than now, since Saturday happens to be the one day I'm having difficulties getting online. XD I'm in favor of random restocks, so members would feel less need to check the pokemart on certain days (or less disappointed if it conflicts with their schedule).

Taking all that in account, Im voting for option 5. As you said, this should facilitate almost all schedules.
Also, with this option, I'm not really sure if it's a problem that more active members still have an advantage. First of all, if they make use of their advantage, and keep snatching away popular items, they should run out of PD really fast with such a frequent restock schedule. So I'd imagine an active player's advantage could run out after only a few weeks. Second, even if you find yourself missing out on an item because an active player got it, you know you'll only have to wait a day (schedule permitting) to have another chance. =)

Because of that last reason, I'd vote against "just" 2 restocks per week. Heck, I almost voted for option 6, but I think 3 restocks per day might be a bit overkill... XD

I'd also recommend including the Pokemart into the activities page if possible, if you're going to use a random restock schedule. That way, we can easily see if we're allowed to buy something again, by seeing if the checkbox next to the Pokemart activity is checked or not. ^_^

Phew, now all that's left is to actually vote for option 5, only the forum wouldn't let me. I'm constantly getting the error message: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again."

Oh, and can I still take a choice regular card for my thoughts? ^_^;;

But I agree with Barbar. Especially regarding the check box thing. x_x I already know for sure that I'd mess up with when I could buy something again or not otherwise... Maybe there could be some message in the mart itself so that you don't have to change the location.

And although I do agree with Barbar's point of view, I'm also considering the size of this TCG (or maybe I'm overestimating?). MissingNO is rather large in size compared to most TCGs and thus have a lot of active members. In addition, new members can always join. Although the active members will -eventually- run out of items to collect/money, that -eventually- may be a long, long, long time.

Although I think the current system still gives an advantage over active members, I think it's the fairest option up there (and less time consuming...). But this is only the point of view of college students. -_-;;; Renako stated before but restocking randomly throughout the week (worst case scenerio) or any day on the week would take a real toll on us (either never checking and having a rather big disadvantage [which equals no fun to me...] or checking everyday every hour or half hour...).

BUT I also don't think it's fair to those who can't get on the weekends (I have the same problem except it's Monday~Friday). I'd go for Option #- since it wouldn't give an advantage to those who can check both days.

Side note, wouldn't updating randomly give active members more of an advantage? ._. They would have more time and chances to check the pokemart while those with limited time can only check a few times a week. Yes it's by chance, but just by doing some probability math (yes you can kill me for this, but I am a math person ~0~), those with more time have a much greater chance of finding the pokemart restocked first...

Side note two, I LOVE the checkbox idea. I'm terribly forgetful and forget when/if I bought my max.

I'd be fine with number 3 to 5 but I think i'd prefer 5. I think it strikes a nice balance between giving active players an advantage and making it fair for everyone else :3

XD *pats* Poor Bloo! Just so you know, I didn't vote in the poll *is lazy*.

As for the choices, I prefer option 5. Given that active members are always going to have an advantage since that's how everything works, I barely count that as a "con" anyway - more of a fact of life, har har. 5 gives everyone else a fairly equal chance, as schedules differ for players, since we've got people from high school all the way to *gasp* adulthood playing.

I think I'm with Allie on this one. Three is okay, but five would be... better? I dunno. XP I just know that I suck at making decisions. XP But once a day would give me another reason to come on every day (not that I don't already do that) and try my luck, I guess. XP

I've voted for Option 5^^

But to make sure that less active members get their key items, maybe you could include items in the freebies and give out "an item of choice". I know that's a lot of work with the inventory but if you just do it at major events it could be a solution =)

also voting 4 option 5 :) think it's better 2 have more options of buying and also more active players don't have too many items in a small time. It's obvious that u can't eliminate everything so more active members have no advantage but I also think it wouldn't be so fair if u could... they are stll more active xD even if it's cause they have more time or so... but it's just normal 2 have more chances or so if ur more active ^^
